Canada’s Rossi Milev, Clear Air, Wins Worlds17! Canadians 1st, 4th, & 6th.

Sept.23/17.  In the 2017 J/24 Worlds in Port Credit, Canada, three Canadians wound up in the final top ten, with Canada’s Rossi Milev and his crew taking top spot. On the last day of racing today, Argentina’s Nicolas Cubria (Bow 1) on ARG5499 Elvis won Race 8 handily in the championship’s generally unusual and annoying 5-7 knot winds. Rossi Milev on Clear Air took second in the race, edging Bangor Packet’s Tony Parker and securing the lead by one point. Winds picked up to 8 knots allowing for the 9th race to start. Racers had but 3 meaningful legs until the wind completely died at the bottom of the fourth leg, forcing abandonment. PCYC member Rossi Milev’s World Championship win is the pinnacle of a successful 20-year J/24 career for Rossi and his crew on J/24 Clear Air. Yay Canada – 3 Canadian boats in the top ten!
