Charter Fees, Insurance and terms will be arranged by you, the boat owner and the charterer, but we can help facilitate this by helping with advising how chartering your boat works from insurance, to details at the event.
Insurance for foreign skippers chartering non-Canadian boats
As both parties involved in the transaction are not Canadian, they would be unable to obtain insurance coverage in Canada. The foreign owners MUST look to their own insurance policies and have those policies extended to cover the event and the chartering of their boat out to others.
Insurance for ANY persons chartering a Canadian boat whether they are foreign or Canadian, OR any Canadian chartering a foreign boat
AJG Insurance can provide the coverage to the owner and have the person(s) chartering the boat added as a named insured on their policy. Or they are insuring the Canadian charterer of the foreign boat. Whichever, AJG will provide a liability limit of CAD $1 million for a premium of CAN $250.00. Please contact Joe Marra at AJG Insurance at firstname.lastname@example.org
This DOES NOT provide any hull coverage to the boat owner. The boat owner will have to clarify with their current hull insurer if their coverage will extend while they are chartering the boat.
